Ready to explore Japanese cuisine and dabble in the art of making sushi? Let Chef Marisa Jones be your global guide! Enjoy this laid back introduction on making your own seasoned sushi rice, composing your rolls, rolling them up, then slicing for eating! This is a choose your own adventure class where you can make a classic California roll, or Spicy Tuna roll, Salmon nigiri, veggie rolls or a combo of all!
Participants will make and enjoy a sushi meal in class!

Pâte à Choux (say: pat-a-shoe) is the delicious and delicate pastry that is the base for cream puffs, eclairs, savory gougeres and fancy profiteroles —to name a few! Curious how to make them all? Then join professional pastry chef, Emma Luster, in this choux class to learn the basics. Attendees will mix their choux dough, learn how to pipe proper cream puff and eclair shapes, and bake off the dough. You’ll learn how to make crème diplomat then fill and decorate your pastries.
Attendees will take home their pastries baked in class, plus the recipes.

Discover what makes Southern Italian cooking special in this second part of our Italian Cooking series. In this class we’ll cover 3 regional dishes: Eggplant Caponata Crostini, Shrimp & Calabrian Chili Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes, White Wine & Lemon, and Sicilian Fennel, Orange & Olive Salad. We’ll cover the techniques used to coax the flavor out of overlooked ingredients like eggplant and make seemingly unexpected ingredient pairings of fennel and oranges. Plus learn how to roll, cut, and cook fresh pasta in a simple, yet tasty, dish.
Participants will work in teams to create their dishes. Each participant will enjoy dining on their creations at the end of class, receive the recipes and a glass of wine or beer (if older than 21) or a fizzy water.

If perfectly cooking fish, scallops, or shrimp has been out of your reach or too intimidating to try, this is your class! We’ll take each one of these ingredients and show you a fail-proof technique for preparing it with ease! In class we’ll sear scallops and poach shrimp to make 2 quick composed appetizers, then make fish “en papillote” (paper pouch) and pick from a variety of flavor inclusions. We’ll enjoy the fish and a side for our main course!
Participants will have appetizers and a meal in class, receive recipes for all, and enjoy a glass of wine (if older than 21) or a non-alcoholic soda or seltzer.

This sweet little French tart will have you saying "Ooh la la ma chérie!" Learn to craft this impressive and beautiful dessert using clever shortcuts and expert techniques. We’ll walk you through making pâte sucrée tart crust (basically short bread cookie dough) and the frangipane filling (almond spread). Then fill your tart with beautiful seasonal peaches, bake it in class, and take it home with you! Voilà!
Each participant will take home their fully baked tart plus, tart dough, plus recipes.

Join Aaron and Emma, pizza maestros and founders of Slice Versa, their mobile wood-fired pizza oven, for an evening of pizza making and cooking in the professional pizza rig! Aaron will demonstrate how to make proper pizza sauce and also all of the ins and outs of pizza dough (yeast, flour, proofing, oh my!). Participants will stretch and form their own pizzas using authentic techniques including the “Neapolitan slap”! You’ll top the pizzas, and Emma will show you how to cook in the mobile pizza oven, then enjoy some pizza as we wrap up class.
Each participant will also enjoy a glass of wine or beer (if older than 21) or a fizzy water and take home a fresh pizza dough ball and pizzas made in class (if you don’t eat them all!)

Know the difference between a fine chop and a mince? How to properly store your knives? How to safely cut an onion? How to prepare fresh herbs without mangling them? Come learn the answers to these questions and more from culinary instructor Chef Marisa Jones. She'll teach you how to properly execute 7 basic knife cuts, plus knife safety, storage, care, plus many extra professional tips from an expert! Participants will see how to use their freshly chopped ingredients to make a delicious seasonal recipe. Plus enjoy a snack in class!

Join The Flour District’s seasoned cake baker, Kayla, to learn how to make this stunning and simple berries and cream layer cake. First, she’ll instruct you how to properly mix your cake batter, fill the pans, and bake off your cakes. Then learn to evenly split cake layers, add flavorful soaking syrups, whip a cream filling, and finish assembling the cakes.
Each participant will take home their cakes decorated in class, plus their extra cake baked in class to decorate for their next special occasion! Participants (if older than 21) will also receive a glass of wine, beer, or seltzer.
