Floristry 101: Table in Spring Bloom
Wednesday May 6 l 6 -7:30 PM
Join us in The Flower District’s Atrium for "Table in Bloom - Spring Villa” hosted by local creative director and former floral and event designer at the Inn at Little Washington, Jon-Logan Jones. This workshop treats the dining surface as a living landscape inspired by the emerging beauty of spring as it meets an Italian villa. Jon-Logan will bridge the worlds of food and light and florals and break the rules. He’ll show you how to mess up the perfect table setting and infuse your work with a little bit of wild magic. We’ll begin with a live styling demonstration on layering color and texture, then learn the philosophy of using "interrupters", such as produce on the vine or fractured plating, to join floral concepts and edible dishes.
You will then work at your stations for a hands-on styling exercise by choosing an anchor vessel and styling it with wood, terracotta, mixed metals, and airy linens. You will also create your own “La Dolce Vita” trio of blooming pots in a wooden "meadow box" to take home.
This class is ideal for ages 16+
