Let Chef Stephanie Fees from Scratch Pasta show you how to enjoy your summer tomatoes by making 2 two easy sauces! You’ll make a quick Pomodoro Crudo (fresh tomato sauce) that you’ll customize with your own selection of flavors like garlic, herbs, and spices. You’ll also make your own classic cooked tomato sauce that can be used for pasta, lasagna, chicken parm, meatball sandwiches or anything! We’ll *talk through how to can this sauce along with tips for tomato growing, selecting, and storage. And we’ll of course have a pasta snack in class to showcase your beautiful sauces!
This class is ideal for ages 14+

Let’s navigate a journey into the wide world of Mediterranean flavors! Through these dishes you’ll discover culinary traditions from many of the countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, including Greece, Italy, Spain, parts of North Africa, and the Middle East.
Learn to prepare a combination of hand’s on and demo’d dishes with Chef Marisa Jones. You’ll make kofta learning the secrets to a perfectly spiced, shaped, and roasted meatball. Plus mini spanakopita (phyllo spinach pies) learning the tips and tricks of working with phyllo dough for a flakey, crunchy and savory snack. We’ll demo a creamy homemade hummus that will kick store-bought to the curb, plus put together a jazzy tzatziki sauce. Then feast on all of the creations!
Each participant will also enjoy a glass of wine or beer (if older than 21) or a fizzy water. Enjoy some food in class and take home the rest along with recipes for all.

Autumn will soon be upon us, and that means pumpkin spice season! In this hands-on class, you'll learn the tips and tricks to properly executing the "muffin method" by crafting the Flour District's signature Pumpkin Spice Muffin! Participants will make and bake a batch of muffins to take home along with some pumpkin spice sugar and the recipe.
Each participant will receive a glass of wine with this class (if older than 21) or a bubbly water.

Roast Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Pan Sauce. So simple yet so many ways to go wrong! Let Chef Marisa Jones help you navigate the common pitfalls of this classic dinner. She’ll show you the techniques for creating a herbed butter, roasting the chicken, then creating a savory pan sauce. You’ll also learn the secrets to decadent and silky mashed potatoes. Sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labors with a simple seasonal vegetable to accompany the dish.
This class is built for teams of 2, so grab a friend or date for this experience! Teams will work together to roast their chickens, create their plates, then enjoy dinner at the end of class. You’ll also receive recipes for all and enjoy a glass of wine (if older than 21).

Frohes Oktoberfest! Prost! …or Happy Oktoberfest! Cheers! Join the Bavarian tradition that starts in late September and lasts through early October by making this festival staple, soft pretzels! Professional baker Emma Luster will teach participants how to make their dough, shape the pretzels, and bake them for the iconic pretzel flavor and texture. And no pretzel is complete without a proper sprinkle of salt - but we’ll also have fun choices of toppings (butter and cinnamon sugar anyone?) plus mustard and a cheesy dipping sauce made in class.
Attendees will take home pretzels made in class, the recipe, and enjoy a beer or glass of wine (if over 21).

Ever think, why are my homemade scones always dry little hockey pucks? Let The Flour District teach you how to bake perfectly light and flavorful scones! Create several fall flavored scones like maple pecan, cinnamon raisin, or apple & warm spice for your own batch of scones, bake them during class, and learn how to add the finishing touch of glaze. You can pack them up for home or enjoy one in the Teaching Kitchen and congratulate yourself on a job well done!

Many cultures have a version of dumplings and Italians are no different! These little pillows can be made with either potatoes or ricotta cheese, and Chef Marisa Jones will teach you how to do both! Learn the hands on techniques for rolling and forming your own light and fluffy gnocchi (say: knee-oh-kee) plus her secrets to a rich and scrumptious classic Bolognese meat sauce.
Participants will work with a partner to make their own gnocchi to take home, have a gnocchi snack in class, receive recipes for all, and enjoy a glass of wine (if older than 21) or a non-alcoholic soda or seltzer.

Dive into the heart of Italian culinary tradition with Chef and Owner of Scratch Pasta, Stephanie Fees. This hands-on experience is designed to introduce both beginners and seasoned food enthusiasts to the art of making perfect pasta and raviolis from scratch. You'll start by learning the secrets to preparing the ideal dough and hand-made gourmet fillings. Then, you'll transform your dough into delicate sheets ready to be filled with your choice of fillings.
You’ll bring home as many raviolis as you can make in class to share your new-found culinary talents with friends and family. You’ll also take home a tub of marinara sauce, and recipes for the pasta dough and sauce. During class enjoy a ravioli snack prepared by Stephanie and a glass of wine (if older than 21) or a non-alcoholic soda or seltzer.

Halloween is tomorrow and what better sweet for your spooky party than a scary-delicious cake pop!? Learn the basics to creating these tricky treats from how to form the pops, melt the dipping chocolate, perfectly coat your pops, to expertly decorating them. Learn the best flavor combos and extra decorating tips from Flour District’s own professional baker, Kayla. For folks bringing children please purchase a combo ticket (not for two adults please) to share their workstation and cake pops.

Pâte à Choux (say: pat-a-shoe) is the delicious and delicate pastry that is the base for cream puffs, eclairs, savory gougeres and fancy profiteroles —to name a few! Curious how to make them all? Then join professional pastry chef, Emma Luster, in this choux class to learn the basics. Attendees will mix their choux dough, learn how to pipe proper cream puff and eclair shapes, and bake off the dough. You’ll learn how to make crème diplomat then fill and decorate your pastries.

"Galette" sounds like a fancy word, but it's really just an easy-going free-form pie! Our head baker Kayla, will teach you how to make the dough, roll it out, fill, and bake your galettes in class. Choose from seasonal fruits (like peaches) or savory combos (like tomato, more veggies, cheeses, or herbs.) Can’t decide sweet or savory? Make one of each!
In this hands-on class, participants will craft this classic pastry from start to finish, take home dough made in class, their own 2 handmade galettes, and the recipe. (Plus the skills to pull off this impressive-looking but easy treat!)

Meet Chef Quincy Randolph! You may recognize him from Food Network’s Chopped, Beat Booby Flay, and Guy’s Grocery Games and is now the owner of RND Coffee in Roanoke. Chef Quincy will take you through a French Bistro-inspired dinner of Seared Butter-Basted Ribeye with Shallot pan sauce, Potato Dauphinoise, Haricots Verts Almondine, and a Fresh Dijon-dressed Green Salad.
In this hands-on class, participants will learn in teams of 2 the nuances of a beautifully seared steak, how to build a pan sauce, perfect potato gratin, keeping Haricot Verts (greens beans) fresh until ready to eat, and how to a make a balanced vinaigrette and flavorful salad.

Join professional baker Emma Luster to learn how to make basic bagel dough, then shape the dough into the iconic bagel ring. You’ll learn the multi-step cooking process while customizing your bagel flavors. You’ll also learn to create a “schmear” for topping. Join Aaron and Emma, pizza maestros and founders of Slice Versa, their mobile wood-fired pizza oven, for an evening of pizza making and cooking in the professional pizza rig! Aaron will demonstrate how to make proper pizza sauce and also all of the ins and outs of pizza dough (yeast, flour, proofing, oh my!). Participants will stretch and form their own pizzas using authentic techniques including the “Neapolitan slap”! You’ll top the pizzas, and Emma will show you how to cook in the mobile pizza oven, then enjoy some pizza as we wrap up class.
