Join Aaron and Emma, pizza maestros and founders of Slice Versa, their mobile wood-fired pizza oven, for an evening of pizza making and cooking in the professional pizza rig! Aaron will demonstrate how to make proper pizza sauce and also all of the ins and outs of pizza dough (yeast, flour, proofing, oh my!). Participants will stretch and form their own pizzas using authentic techniques including the “Neapolitan slap”! You’ll top the pizzas, and Emma will show you how to cook in the mobile pizza oven, then enjoy some pizza as we wrap up class.
Each participant will also enjoy a glass of wine or beer (if older than 21) or a fizzy water and take home a fresh pizza dough ball and pizzas made in class (if you don’t eat them all!)

Roast Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Pan Sauce. So simple yet so many ways to go wrong! Let Chef Marisa Jones help you navigate the common pitfalls of this classic dinner. She’ll show you the techniques for roasting the chicken, then creating a savory pan sauce. You’ll also learn the secrets to decadent and silky mashed potatoes and a simple seasonal vegetable to accompany the dish.
This class is built for teams of 2, so grab a friend or date for this experience! Teams will work together to roast their chickens create their plates, then enjoy dinner at the end of class. You’ll also receive recipes for all, and enjoy a glass of wine (if older than 21).

The often overlooked and under appreciated egg is a magical food and one that deserves perfect preparation whether for an omelette, in a sauce, or if just humbly boiled. Let classically trained Chef Adam Bean from Veritas Winery impart his expert egg preparation techniques and knowledge in this class devoted to egg cookery. Chef Adam brings years of professional experience and knowledge to class and will provide the skills for making a perfect French omelette, Hollandaise Sauce, and all the ways to properly boil eggs (Deviled Eggs anyone?) and more!

Take a yeast dough journey with us! What’s “yeast dough” you ask? Ever had a warm cinnamon roll? Or a perfectly pillowy dinner roll? Then you know yeast dough - one dough, so many possibilities! In this class, participants will learn how to make a simple and classic yeast dough and then shape it into three different applications like cinnamon rolls, babka knots, and savory rolls.
Each participant will take home a variety of these treats, have snacks in class, plus we'll also provide the recipes for all!

Is making pie dough, rolling it out, then baking a whole pie your kitchen nemesis? Then let us take the pressure off you by making fun-size and cute hand pies! Learn from our head baker, Kayla, how to mix and roll out a tender and easy to work with pie dough. (You can use it for whole pies, too!) Then choose your pie fillings, form your hand pies, and bake them in class! Learn how to pick complimentary filling flavors and even how to turn them into savory pies.
Attendees will make and bake their hand pies in class to take home and receive the recipe. Plus enjoy a glass of wine (if older than 21) or bubbly water.

Pâte à Choux (say: pat-a-shoe) is the delicious and delicate pastry that is the base for cream puffs, eclairs, savory gougeres and fancy profiteroles —to name a few! Curious how to make them all? Then join professional pastry chef, Emma Luster, in this choux class to learn the basics. Attendees will mix their choux dough, learn how to pipe proper cream puff and eclair shapes, and bake off the dough. You’ll learn how to make crème diplomat then fill and decorate your pastries.
Attendees will take home their pastries baked in class, plus the recipes.

Join The Flour District’s seasoned cake baker, Kayla, to learn how to make this stunning and simple berries and cream layer cake. First, she’ll instruct you how to properly mix your cake batter, fill the pans, and bake off your cakes. Then learn to evenly split cake layers, add flavorful soaking syrups, whip a cream filling, and finish assembling the cakes.
Each participant will take home their cakes decorated in class, plus their extra cake baked in class to decorate for their next special occasion! Participants (if older than 21) will also receive a glass of wine, beer, or seltzer.

In this introduction, we’ll explore the cornerstone flavors of Thai cuisine and how to achieve the perfect balance of the sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and creamy flavors it is known for. We’ll create a few favorite dishes like Fresh Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce, Chicken Satay, and Yellow Vegetable Curry to get you started!

New to sourdough bread baking or want to learn more? Let Brian Ray from Slowpoke Sourdough Bakehouse show you how to create, maintain, shape, and bake with a sourdough starter made with regionally sourced and locally milled flour. In this combo hands-on, instructional and demo workshop, you will take home a bread-proofing basket, dough scraper, tea towel, sourdough starter, expert knowledge & techniques, and dough made in class to bake off your own country sourdough loaf at home and many more future loaves. Enjoy a light, seasonal, and gourmet lunch and sample fresh bread!
This class is ideal for beginner to intermediate bread-baking skill levels. Ages 13+

What’s better than learning how to bake bread? Learning how to bake bread with mimosas! Join professional baker Emma Luster to learn how to make basic bagel dough, then shape the dough into the iconic bagel ring. You’ll learn the multi-step cooking process while customizing your bagel flavors. You’ll also learn to create a “schmear” for topping. Once baked to perfection, you can enjoy those bagels at our bagel brunch bar stocked with all the fixings ….plus mimosas!
Attendees will take home bagels made in class, the recipe, and enjoy a mimosa in class (if over 21).

Take a peek inside the amazing world of Asian dumpling making and dim sum! In this introductory course, Chef Marisa Jones will teach participants how to make a variety of handmade wontons, shumai, spring rolls, and steamed buns using traditional methods and ingredients. Learn how to expertly fold and craft dumplings, use a bamboo steamer, and properly deep fry.
Participants will make and dine on a dim sum meal in class and take home their own bamboo steamer. Plus enjoy a glass of wine, beer, or bubbly water (if over 21).

Treat Mom with a special Almond Croissant making class! Learn how to transform plain croissants into almond croissants plus a special berry croissant in honor of Mother’s Day! With, of course, bottomless mimosas!
Participants will learn how to make creamy almond frangipane and how to *assemble our classic Almond Croissants. Each participant will take home 3 croissants and the recipe for assembling almond croissants including the almond simple syrup and frangipane - the filling that makes almond croissants so delicious!
*Please note, we will not be making croissants from scratch. This is a beginner level class for adults only (21+).

Join Trey Ward, professional chef and expert pasta maker at Lynchburg’s own Scratch Pasta Co. for an evening of pasta making and cooking! He’ll share pasta fun facts, demonstrate how to make fresh pasta dough the traditional way, then roll and cut fresh noodles. Then you’ll roll and cut your own fresh noodles to take home! Participants will also enjoy a pasta snack in class.
