Come learn the basics to cupcake decorating with Flour District’s, Kayla! Bring a friend or your kids to get creative with these sweet treats. Learn how to whip up a perfectly smooth buttercream and how to expertly fill piping bags. Then learn the differences among piping tips and how to create swirls, ruffles, stars, scallops and more!
Each participant will take home their 8 decorated cupcakes (unless part of a Combo Ticket) and receive a glass of wine (if older than 21), bubbly water, or milk.
This class is ideal for all skill levels! Ages 6+. Ages 6-13 must be accompanied by an adult. For this option, please book the Combo Ticket! Combo Tickets purchasers will receive 8 cupcakes total.

Dive into the heart of Italian culinary tradition with Chef and Owner of Scratch Pasta, Stephanie Fees. This hands-on experience is designed to introduce both beginners and seasoned food enthusiasts to the art of making perfect pasta and raviolis from scratch. You'll start by learning the secrets to preparing the ideal dough and hand-made gourmet fillings. Then, you'll transform your dough into delicate sheets ready to be filled with your choice of fillings. Learn how to cook them to perfection, and sample the delicious results of your labor!
What sets our class apart is not just the skills you'll acquire but the extra bonuses! Bring home as many raviolis as you can make to share your new-found culinary talents with friends and family. Plus a tub of marinara sauce, recipes for the pasta dough and sauce, and during class enjoy a glass of wine (if older than 21) or a non-alcoholic soda or seltzer.

Join Aaron and Emma, pizza maestros and founders of Slice Versa, their mobile wood-fired pizza oven, for an evening of pizza making in the Flour District teaching kitchen and cooking on the professional pizza rig! Aaron will demonstrate how to make proper pizza dough then invite participants to stretch and form their own pizzas using authentic techniques including the “Neapolitan slap”! You’ll top the pizzas, and Emma will show you how to cook in the mobile pizza oven, then enjoy some pizza as we wrap up class . You don’t have a pizza rig at home, you say? Don’t worry! Aaron will also give you helpful hints on how to make equally delicious homemade pizza with your very own pizza dough recipe and fresh dough ball to take home.
Each participant will also enjoy a glass of wine or beer (if older than 21) or a fizzy water and take home pizzas made in class (if you don’t eat them all!)

Join us in the Teaching Kitchen to learn how to transform plain croissants into almond croissants!
Participants will learn how to make creamy almond frangipane and how to *assemble our classic Almond Croissants. Each participant will take home 4 croissants and the recipe for frangipane - the filling that makes almond croissants so delicious! This class comes with bottomless mimosas, so grab a friend and sign up!
*Please note, we will not be making croissants from scratch. This is a beginner level class for adults only (21+).

Want to know the difference between standard biscuits and angel biscuits? Join Elizabeth Giles, owner of Seven Hills Baking, to reveal her secrets to her famous angel biscuits from her former catering company, Cook’s Alley.
Elizabeth will walk you though the steps to create these unique biscuits that were the the “must have” item on her menu. We’ll start with the basic recipe , then build ham biscuits, and also learn to create a few spreads to fancy them up.
Each participant will enjoy a glass of wine (if older than 21) or bubbly water, plus take home a batch of their own biscuits made in class.

Join The Flour District’s seasoned cake baker, Kayla, to learn how to make this stunning and simple berries and cream layer cake. First, she’ll instruct you how to properly mix your cake batter, fill the pans, and bake off your cakes. Then learn to evenly split cake layers, add flavorful soaking syrups, whip a cream filling, and finish assembling the cakes.
Each participant will take home their cakes decorated in class, plus their cake baked in class to decorate for their next special occasion! Participants (if older than 21) will also receive a glass of wine, beer, or seltzer.

New to sourdough bread baking or want to learn more? Let Brian Ray from Great Day Gardens Bakehouse show you how to create, maintain, shape, and bake with a sourdough starter made with regionally sourced and locally milled flour. In this combo hands-on and demo workshop, you will take home a bread-proofing basket, dough scraper, tea towel, sourdough starter, expert knowledge & techniques, and dough made in class to bake off your own country sourdough loaf at home. Enjoy a light lunch with specialty items sourced from Great Day Gardens and sample fresh bread!
This class is ideal for beginner to intermediate bread-baking skill levels. Ages 13+

Join Stephanie Fees, professional chef and founder of Lynchburg’s own Scratch Pasta Co. for an evening of pasta making and cooking! She’ll share pasta fun facts, demonstrate how to make fresh pasta dough the traditional way, then roll and cut fresh noodles. Then you’ll roll and cut your own fresh noodles to take home! Stephanie will demonstrate how to best combine pesto and marinara sauces, then participants will enjoy a pasta snack in class.
Each participant will take home a pound of fresh noodles, tubs of both marinara and pesto sauce, recipes for all three items, and will receive a glass of wine (if older than 21) or a non-alcoholic soda or seltzer.
